2016 was the second consecutive record year for home sales according to data compiled by the Toronto Real Estate Board.

2016 Highlights:
• $1,240,877 – average price of detached home
• $847,091 – average price of semi-detached home
• $622,969 – average price of townhouse
• $442,669 – average price of condominium apartment
• Condominiums exhibited the strongest sales volume growth at 16% (year-over-year)

Below is our breakdown of the performance of each property type in Toronto on a monthly basis over 2016.

Detached:Year-over-year price increase of 20% to $1,240,877


Semi-detached:Year-over-year price increase of 17% to $847,091

Townhouse:Year-over-year increase of 16% to $622,969

Condominiums:Year-over-year increase of 10% to $442,669
